UPDATE: Public Works crews postpone work on Lowell-Larimer Road due to weather

Larimer Road

EVERETT – Due to rainy weather, the closure of Lowell-Larimer Road near the 7400 block, about one mile south of Lowell, has been postponed until further notice. The closure, estimated to last up to two weeks, was scheduled to begin April 23.

Crews will close approximately 300 feet of Lowell-Larimer Road at 7 a.m. Monday, April 23, for road and utility maintenance. A detour route onto county roads will be in place; drivers are advised to allow an additional 10 minutes of travel time to reach their destination.

During the closure, multiple crews will conduct several repair and maintenance projects, including repairing a drain line, installing catch basins, stabilizing a shoulder, replacing a water main valve stand and inspecting a sewer force main. The full road closure is needed because the road is narrow, and there is not enough room for the work to be performed with a single-lane closure.

The work is expected to take a minimum of one week and may last as long as two weeks, depending on conditions encountered during the work. The projects are being completed at the same time to reduce the need for multiple closures and minimize impacts to the community.

The April repair and maintenance work precedes the City’s upcoming annual overlay work that will start up in late spring. The 7400 block of Lowell-Larimer Road will be closed temporarily at that time to complete the overlay.
