Everett Public Works- Transmission Line Maintenance

Posted on: March 1, 2018

[ARCHIVED] Transmission Line 5 project complete

The transmission line project is complete and water service is restored. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Please follow the directions applicable to you (below) as you return to service.

Single-family connected directly to the City of Everett transmission line

Homes that were without service should run their water to clear any turbidity and air from the lines once service resumes. This may take as little as 5-10 minute or as much as 30. Though water may appear discolored, it is safe to use and drink.

  1. Go to an outside hose bib or cold water faucet in a bathtub and let the water run for several minutes until all air is out of the line and the water is clear.
  2. Repeat for each individual cold-water faucet inside your home. This could take up to 30 minutes.
  3. Turn toilet valves and your hot water valve back on (if they were turned off).
  4. If you have trouble or concerns about your water or quality, call Everett Public Works Dispatch at 425-257-8821.

Customers of impacted water districts

Please contact your water district for information about their return to service procedures.
