Rain barrels are a great way to catch rain and water your garden the natural yard care way. The City of Everett offers a variety of ways for you to purchase rain barrels. We have sales and workshops to help you modify a rain barrel for use in your yard.

Build a rain barrel

Attend a "Make it, Take it" workshop hosted by Everett Public Works and build your own rain barrel. The fee covers the cost of the 55-gallon barrel and all parts. You must pre-register for the workshop. Space is limited. Workshop may be held outdoors so please dress for weather. Fee is $50, cash or check, made out to the City of Everett. Confirmation of registration and details for workshop will be sent to you, once you have successfully registered.

Workshop date: Monday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m.

Buy a rain barrel

Public Works holds an annual sale for residents to purchase premade rain barrels. Each 55-gallon barrel includes a spigot, overflow, and double screen on top to keep out debris and bugs. Barrel is setup for gutter water collection. Each barrel is $65. Payable by cash or check, made out to the City of Everett. Sale occurs at Everett Public Works, 3200 Cedar St. The sale is first-come, first-serve.

Sale date: Saturday, Sept. 30 from 9 - 11 a.m.
