About the CHIP Loan Review Committee
The Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) Loan Review Committee is the volunteer committee that advises city staff on matters related to the CHIP Program.
Duties
Reviews and recommends whether to approve loan applications
Advises CHIP staff on changes in CHIP loan application guidelines, administrative procedures, evaluation criteria, and the Operating Procedures Manual
Hears and makes recommendations on grievances and appeals of the actions of the CHIP program
Reviews and decides whether to approve applications by general contractors to be added to the CHIP contractors list
Sets a maximum dollar amount on which the contractor can bid
Member Appointment
CHIP Loan Review Committee members are appointed by the mayor and includes 1 member from each of 3 groups:
Participating lenders
Building trades
Neighborhood representatives or former CHIP clients
Each position may have an alternate to serve in cases of conflict of interest or absence. Members and alternates are appointed for 4-year terms and may be re-appointed.
