Broadway Bridge Open
The Broadway Bridge is open to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Originally scheduled to reopen in March 2016, the city’s contractor removed detour barriers, opening the bridge on December 8, 2015, three months earlier than expected.

Project Description
The former Broadway Bridge was more than 100 years old and in need of replacement. We demolished and replaced the 100-feet span by 100-feet wide bridge over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad main line. The newly constructed bridge span is located on Broadway between Hewitt Avenue and California Street.  The new bridge consists of voided slab pre-stressed concrete deck girders supported on drilled shaft concrete foundations.
