Open green spaces, such as urban forests and parks, offer many benefits to our community, creating opportunities for exercise and recreation while also helping mitigate air and noise pollution. They also reduce urban flooding and provide habitat for native plants and wildlife. Everett has over 920 acres of parks and open space and nearly 30 miles of regional trails and paths, and has been recognized as a Tree City USA since 1993. We’re continually working to enhance our inventory of beautiful outdoor areas and trees, with a goal of having a park within a 10-minute walking distance for every Everett resident. Our 2022 Parks, Recreation & Open Space Plan outlines our priorities and approach for achieving this goal.
Help keep Everett green by planting native trees and plants in your garden, and by volunteering with the Green Everett partnership, a local volunteer program hosted by Forterra to remove invasive plants and to install native trees.
