Mission
The mission of the City of Everett Office of Emergency Management is to help prevent, prepare for, respond to, restore services from, recover from and mitigate the effects of any hazard (natural or man made) impacting the City of Everett.
This mission includes the full range of emergency planning, preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation activities intended to minimize the impact to people, the environment, the economy and property throughout the City of Everett. Our mission is to reach not only our residents but also those coming into the area to work or visit.
Responsibilities
The Community Preparedness Program is responsible for identifying activities and strategies to reach out into various community sectors to elevate the general level of emergency preparedness, assessment, evacuation and relocation. Such strategies include public education and training, recruiting, mobilizing and coordinating volunteers, supporting neighborhood preparedness, and preparing to utilize Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members for disasters.
