New buildings, tenant improvements, additions, change of occupancy, and modifications to residential buildings require a permit application to show how the work complies with the following codes adopted by the City of Everett, as amended by the State of Washington.

  • The Fire Department and Permit Services review and inspect building permits submitted to the Permit Counter.  Separate permits from the Fire Department are required for automatic fire detection system, after obtaining an electrical permit from the Permit Counter.
    Site development requires permit applications to comply with the Everett Design and Construction Standards and Stormwater Management requirements on new building and site development permit applications.

    New building construction or change of occupancy should first be reviewed by Planning & Community Development to comply with the Everett Zoning Code.
