Installation of a new water main along the southbound lanes of Broadway Avenue, between 35th Street & Pacific Avenue is now complete, ending months of traffic delays and lane closures.
This project, which began last October, replaced 1,400 feet of 1950-vintage cast iron pipe that had experienced multiple breaks. The new pipe will improve water flow and reduce the risk of flooding and damaging property. Due to weather related constraints, the southbound lane of Broadway has a temporary pavement patch and drivers may experience bumps. This temporary patch will be replaced in early summer with full lane width resurfacing and new pavement markings as part of the city's 2017 repaving project.
